Kingsteignton Garden and Craft Show 2012

Well looking back over my blogs I noticed I forgot to actually tell you about the day we had. It was a lovely sunny day and there were lots of winners as well as really lovely entries so we are hoping for even more next year in both the open and local classes.

Hobbycraft kindly sponsored our children’s room which was full every time I went in there with children, gluing, sticking and painting craft or garden orientated items.  Participants who belonged to the local brownies, who made three items also qualified for their craft badge and I am hoping to be invited along to Brownies to see them being given out.

We had fun looking at giant slugs and millipedes and petting a pony when we were not entertained by the Organ, the ukulele band and the Karate club. Lots of people won brilliant prizes thank to local businesses in the three raffles and for those who had money to spend we had some lovely exhibitors selling craft and jewellery items. My favourites were the chocolate lady and the driftwood items, apart from the chocolate being enticing so were the designs and I succumbed to a flower with a yellow centre and it was yummy.

When your legs got  a little tired you could sit outside in the sun or try out and learn how to cross stitch, embroider or make lace.

I think everyone enjoyed themselves and if you want to join in or see photos of the exhibits or parts of the day feel free to join us at Facebook.
