Embroidery of the Century – 1930’s Sliced Bread

This is the new pattern design for the Embroidery of the Century.  I was asked to do something to represent bread for the 1930’s.  You can see some of the panels already made up at http://www.laviniaearl.co.uk/

I thought I woudl take the famous saying the best thing since sliced breada nbd change it to fit. the best this ***sliced bread

 

I have added a V and L to represent my mum Viola and myself Liz

 

Mum stitched the sandwich and I stitched the lettering

 

The final panel ready to be sent off.

 

It’s all ready to be sent off now…I hope they like it.
